Jewel x Orenda Tribe

During the first stages of the pandemic, Dinétah (the Navajo Nation) was hard hit. Amy Yeung of Orenda Tribe (now 4Kinship) approached Conscious City Guide to produce and design a series on livestream fundraising concerts featuring Indigenous & Western artists including SIA, RY X, Alex Ebert, The Lumineers, Jewel & many more. I worked with two emergent Indigenous artists Shaun Price & Alexandra Barton to bring their art to life.

  • Working with the beautiful logo designs of Alexandra Barton, I created a brand and motion graphics package for each livestream.

  • Coordinating dozens of artists for a livestream is challenging enough, but impossible when those artists live in remote reservations with inconsistent electricity and internet so much of the livestream was prerecorded and pre-edited. I did the first livestream and handed over the reigns to Indigenous videographer and photographer Shaun Price for the subsequent productions.

  • branded social assets were needed for the 40+ artists and performers. These included creation of unique instagram posts, stories & youtube videos for each artist to promote their work.

Voices of Hwozidl

The second of the livestreams with Jewel & Orenda Tribe, I created the social assets & motion graphics, while Shaun Price took over editing.

The wealth of wisdom I learned from the Indigenous women who consulted on this project and the joy of helping two young artists bloom made this one of my most satisfying professional experiences.
